Nestled between the Great and Klein Karoo lies the incredibly diverse and mountainous Swartberg Nature Reserve. Steeped in layers of history, this World Heritage Site can be explored by 4x4, mountain bike and on foot or even with donkeys!

Permit bookings can be made online or via CapeNature Central Reservations office.
Permits for day hikes only are also available from the Oudtshoorn office: 087 087 3002. No permits issued after 16h00.
Conservation fees are waivered with a valid Wild Card and proof of ID.
