TABLE MOUNTAIN NP ROUTE
Platteklip Gorge
The quickest and by far the most popular route up the front of Table Mountain. The hike up Platteklip is a slog and the zigzags can get frustrating but the views are great and the reward once on top is well worth the effort.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
You set off from Tafelberg Rd near the Table Mountain monument and head up to the Contour Path. Follow the signs and sneak a short left to begin the trudge up. The path is a long series of zig-zags and is quite rocky under-foot. Make sure you have enough water for the way up as it can get very warm. Once at the top of the gorge, follow the signs pointing right towards the cable station, restaurant and toilets.
TRAIL TRIVIA
In 2014, Cape Tonian Andre Calitz set the world record for 'The Greatest Vertical Heigh Climbing Stairs in 12hrs', when he climbed Platteklip 14.5 times totalling 10.2 vertical kilometers.
