TABLE MOUNTAIN NP ROUTE
Vlakkenberg
The path up to Vlakkenberg Peak is a gritty one. The ascent is consistent and may make you break a sweat. Once on the plateau however, you will be able to take in the peacefulness above in the central peninsula.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Unfortunately, to start, you have to walk along the M63 down towards Hout Bay. After about 200m, turn left through the gate which indicates 'Vlakkenberg'. You will follow the road and veer left, following the signs. The path goes gently alongside farm fences and then steepens as you head up. At the top of the valley the path flattens out.
TRAIL TRIVIA
The wine farms on the eastern flanks of Vlakkenberg Peak are some of South Africa's oldest, dating back to the late 1600s.
